Luis Enrique hails Barcelona after victory in Belarus

Barcelona boss Luis Enrique declared himself happy with his team’s work both in defence and attack after they secured a comfortable 2-0 victory at BATE Borisov in Champions League Group E.
Barcelona boss Luis Enrique declared himself happy with his team’s work both in defence and attack after they secured a comfortable 2-0 victory at BATE Borisov in Champions League Group E.
After dominating the first half without being able to finish off any of the string of chances they created, the defending champions broke the deadlock in the 48th minute when substitute Ivan Rakitic blasted home after being teed up by Neymar.
The pair then combined again in the 65th minute, Rakitic receiving Neymar's pass and producing a cool finish to seal the victory.
The Catalans were barely troubled at the back by their Belarusian hosts, but Enrique was keen afterwards to flag up the achievement of his side's first clean sheet in nine games.
"I'm leaving happy with both our defensive and offensive action," Enrique, quoted on Barcelona’s official website, said.
"We have not suffered in defence thanks to the rigour of our pressure. The whole team has been very good."
It was also Barca’s first victory in four away games in all competitions, and Enrique added: "I think today can be a turning point.”
Enrique’s side have moved three points clear at the top of Group E with seven points at the halfway stage.
Second-placed Bayer Leverkusen battled out a 4-4 home draw with bottom side Roma.
Enqrique said: “It is a victory that strengthens us.
“Winning without conceding and the group's other game finishing in a draw strengthens us."
Rakitic’s brace marked the first time he had scored for his club this season and he dedicated the goals to his pregnant wife.
"I've wanted to score before this, but not been able to,” the Croatia midfielder said.
“The most important thing is to have helped the team.
“It was not easy to play here. It was the perfect time to score.
“We have worked very well but we must follow it up.”
Rakitic came on in the 17th minute for Sergi Roberto, who sustained a groin problem and will be assessed on Wednesday.
